Find your COA.
Search a compound name, lot number or report number.
Certificates by compound.
How to read a certificate.
Five checks, in order. Pick a step to see where it sits on a certificate.
-
The compound name and lot number on the report must match the ones on your vial.
Watch outA report for a different lot is not a match, even for the same compound.
-
Find the issuing laboratory, the report ID and the dates.
Watch outA test date is not an expiry date. Use the lab’s own verification if it offers one.
-
Read the method and units next to the purity figure.
Watch outAn HPLC area % is not the amount of material in the vial by mass.
-
Look for the identity method, such as mass spectrometry, and compare expected with observed.
Watch outIdentity and purity answer different questions; read them together.
-
Results apply only to the sample, methods and limits stated on the report.
Watch outA missing test is not a pass, and a COA is not FDA approval or proof of suitability for human use.
